Ashbury, St. Peter, Merivale and Elmwood play opening games Monday during OFSAA girls’ rugby championships at Twin Elm

The three-day Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations girls’ A/AA and AAA/AAAA rugby championships begin Monday at the Twin Elm Rugby Park.

In the AAA/AAAA division, fourth-seeded Ashbury Colts will meet No. 13 Stratford at 11 a.m., and No. 15 St. Peter Knights face No. 2 Oakville Trafalgar at 2 p.m.

No. 5 Arnprior, who reached the OFSAA A/AA final in 2011, meets No. 12 Streetsville in its AAA/AAAA opener.

The opening A/AA matches will see No. 5 Merivale Marauders play No. 12. St. Thomas Aquinas, and No. 1 Quinte goes against No. 16 Elmwood Eagles. Both games start at 9:30 a.m.

Games continue on Tuesday with the semifinals at 2 p.m. in A/AA and 4 p.m. in AAA/AAAA.

The A/AA medal matches are 9 a.m. for the bronze and 11:30 a.m. for the gold/silver on Wednesday. The AAA/AAAA medals will be decided at 10:15 a.m. for the bronze and 1 p.m. for the gold/silver.
